We have been moved in and getting settled into GardenGal heaven for over a month. My first task was getting things unpacked and functional inside. Next task was to start having fun in my glorious garden space outside.
Even though we moved in the tale end of summer, I was hoping to get in lots of gardening time. And by gardening time I really mean weeding, trimming, and digging up time.
This place has been neglected for awhile. All the trees and bushes need trimming. All the perennial plants need serious love. Everything else is covered in a blanket of thistle bushes, ferns and horsetail ferns. Even with the help of my adorable 2 year old this is a big job, well including his “help” its an even bigger job.
Summer is over. Its getting colder and wet. It will take me though fall and winter to get the yard back in shape. Hopefully not longer. I want this place ready for spring and all the planting and planning that comes along.
So my weekends until spring (and probably after) I will be bundled in rain gear and thermal gardening gloves hoping for a record breaking heat wave in March. But it will be so worth it!
